Defending Country is pleased to welcome as Supporters, Gregory Lehman and Henrietta Marrie AM.
Gregory Lehman (Trawulwuy) is Professorial Fellow, Indigenous Research, in the College of Arts, Law and Education at the University of Tasmania. He has previously held senior positions at UTAS and the University of Melbourne. In 2018, together with Tim Bonyhady, he co-curated The National Picture: the Art of Tasmania’s Black War
, a major touring exhibition on the work of Benjamin Duterrau and other Tasmanian colonial artists that opened at the National Gallery of Australia.
Henrietta Marrie (nee Fourmile, Gimuy/Walubarra/Yidinji) is an Honorary Professor with the Australian Research Council (ARC) Training Centre for Uniquely Australian Foods at the University of Queensland. The Encyclopaedia of Aboriginal Australia identifies her as a notable Aboriginal Australian for her work in Aboriginal cultural heritage, museums and cultural tourism. In 2018, she was included in Queensland Greats by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
