Marcia Langton AO, First Nations (Yiman and Bidjara) academic and activist, is the subject of Angus McDonald's painting which has won the Archibald Prize ANZ People's Choice award. Professor Langton was a central figure in the development of the Voice to Parliament.
'Receiving the award is a special honour to me', said artist McDonald, 'but equally, it's as much a strong vote of respect and admiration for Marcia Langton and acknowledges the profound part she has played in the struggle for Indigenous recognition and reconciliation in this country for over 50 years.’ said McDonald.
